How Can I Check the Books in My Office?


 

Shimane University Library conducts an annual inspection of books (assets) in faculty offices during a set period based on the Book Inspection Guidelines (図書実査要項).


 

What Do I Need to Do?

  • You need to check whether the book in your office is lost or not.
  • The materials to be inspected are all books (assets) in faculty offices and library rooms of each Department.
  • Please log in to MyOPAC and click the link in the "蔵書点検リスト" to start the check.
  • If you need detailed information, please contact to staff in charge.

 

When are the Period and Deadline of the Inspection?

The inspection period is usually from early August to December 31st, but details will be announced via e-mail and the library website. The due date for submission of the book inspection result sheet is December 31st.
 

Other

  • Appointment List of Book Inspectors (図書実査職員任命簿)
    In accordance with Article 2 of the Book Inspection Guidelines (図書実査要項), it is necessary to prepare a list of appointed book inspectors. Please fill in the department, job title, and name on the prescribed form, and affix your seal or signature in the confirmation column. And please send it to the staff below. When you save the check result on MyOPAC, you can download the form.
  • Missing Books
    Books (assets) that have been reported as missing for three consecutive years will be considered lost. In such cases, you may be asked to report the loss or give the same book. Please continue to search for them after they are reported missing and contact us as soon as you find them. Please be sure to return the books (assets) in your office to the library when you leave Shimane University or move out. We ask your cooperation to take extra care in handling and managing your books to avoid missing.
  • Books in a Department's Library Room
    Books (assets) in each department's library room are also in the scope of the inspection. It is possible to see the list of books (assets) placed in the department's library room as well as faculty's office. If you are a responsible person for the room and do not see the list, please contact the library.
  • In Case of Extended Business Trip
    If you are not available due to an extended business trip or other reason, please contact us by email to inform us of your absence.
