How Can I Borrow Books from Public Libraries or Other University (College) Library in Shimane Prefecture?

It is available to borrow books from Public Libraries in Shimane Prefecture, the University of Shimane Library (Matsue Campus only) and the National Institute of Technology, Matsue College and receive them at the Shimane University Library.

It is available to cross-search on the 島根県内図書館横断検索システム(Cross Search System of Libraries in Shimane Prefecture).

But most of the books are written in Japanese.

How Can I Get Books from Public Libraries or Other University (College) Library in Shimane Prefecture?

It is necessary to fill in the application form ( for Matsue Campus User / for Izumo Campus User ） and to bring it to the Service Desk or to send it by e-mail to sabisu[at]lib.shimane-u.ac.jp. ([at]→@)

• It takes about 1 week from ordering a book to receive. It is not available to send by express.
• When the book arrives, we will notify you by designated way in the application form such as e-mail or phone call. When you get the notification, please come to the Service Desk. It is free of charge.
• Newly arrived books, local materials and magazines are often unavailable to order. What items could be ordered or not is depending on each library's rule.
• Though the borrowing term depends on each library's rule, rough standard is 2 weeks.
